This afternoon I came home sick from work. I was able to piece together pick up and care of Jackson for as long as I needed, even overnight if I so chose.
I fear today's illness was my body preparing for and entering the next hill of hormone changes and the side effects of the new drug, in which I had placed extreme high hopes because up until today, I had felt happy and pain free.
And despite one of his top three most favorite people in the world picking him up, it was unexpected and his behavior when I did make it to Grandma's to get him was atrocious. Like daddy, Jax does not do well with surprises and changes of routine - even if they are not bad ones.
Was it the break in routine or the fear that I was sick? I don't really ever remember being afraid that a parent was ill. Maybe they never were, but I doubt it. Maybe they hid it better. Maybe I just don't remember.
But my little boy also wants to take care of me. In the car he asked, "Mommy, when I told you my joke at Grandma's house, did that make you feel all better?"
"It does make my heart feel better," I told him, because it does.

What a little sweetie.... I'm sure some of his behavior definitely had to do with concern for you. I hope you feel better, saying a prayer that it is something harmless and mundane....
